Hello friends and family,

Many of you have been praying for Joe, or Pastor Joe, our dad. The Fernandez Family, is so thankful for your love and prayers over the past 6 years through his cancer journey. We want to give you a more detailed update.

As you know, he was diagnosed in 2018, three years after his sister Ofelia passed away from cancer within a year of her diagnosis. This was devastating. Watching her go through conventional treatment was extremely hard. When our dad was diagnosed, we wondered, “How can he support his body, build his immune system, and detox from the toxins that contributed to the cancer?”

After much prayer, our parents chose an integrative approach, which means a combination of both conventional and holistic therapies. The conventional treatment, covered by insurance, includes any surgery, all clinical testing, and medications. He had surgery in 2021 and is currently taking hormone blockers, which are helping reverse the growth of cancer cells.

The holistic approach includes a strict alkaline diet, non-invasive therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infrared sauna, specific IVs that help starve cancer stem cells, and supplements that strengthen his immune system. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any of these treatments.

In the past seven years, our dad has seen a great improvement in many other health concerns due to these holistic modalities. He has been able to reverse asthma, allergies, non-hepatitis A & B, diverticulosis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, acid reflux, and weight gain.

Our dad feels healthier than he ever has. When we received his recent bloodwork and heard the doctor's concerns, we began to worry. “How could this be? He feels and looks great,” but unfortunately, his cancer markers are telling a different story. His bloodwork shows that his cancer has metastasized to his spine.

One of the recommended home treatments, not covered by insurance, is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT delivers oxygen at high pressure. The increased oxygen enhances the ability of white blood cells to kill bacteria, reduces swelling, and allows new blood vessels to grow more rapidly in the affected areas. Many areas of tissue damage or cancerous growth are characterized by a low supply of oxygen, and HBOT can close that gap by resupplying these areas with oxygen.

The hyperbaric chamber our parents would like to use costs $23,000. This is a huge amount, but if we could raise this for him, it would allow him to do this therapy every single day in the comfort of his own home.

We have watched our dad faithfully pastor countless communities. For four decades, they have given themselves selflessly and loved people in the trenches. The world still needs our dad! God is not finished with him.

We know so many of his friends and other individuals he has ministered to would love to bless him and support this battle against cancer. We wanted to provide a tangible way that would financially help them.

Our parents have never asked for financial help before. Our dad has no idea that we are doing this. He is a giver and would never ask for help. For this reason, we are doing this in a private way with selected friends that we know would love to support him.
